Preparation of presentations

1. Lecture session
1-1. Presentation time is critical: each paper is allocated 20 minutes including question-answering time.
1-2. A PC with Windows OS and a projector will be provided for lecture sessions. Presenters who want to use this PC for their presentation should upload their presentation files to it prior to their sessions.
1-3. Presenters who want to use their own laptop for their presentation should connect their laptops to a switcher (that will be provided) during the question-answering time of the previous presentation.

2. Poster session
2-1. The time for each poster session is 2 hours.
2-2. The size of a poster board is 4' x 4' (1.2m x 1.2m).
2-3. The title and author lists of each paper should be indicated on the top of the poster board. The presenters are recommended to make the print easy to read from a distance.

3. Demo session
3-1. The presenters can use a poster board, electricity outlets, and a chair for their demonstration. The presenters should prepare by themselves any other items that they may need for their demonstration.
3-2. The size of a poster board is 4' x 4' (1.2m x 1.2m).


Submission procedure

  • The submission should be made on-line through the paper submission interface below.
  • The submitted papers will be peer-reviewed, and acceptance will be based on quality, originality and relevance.

Preparation of your paper

  • Submitted papers should be in PDF format.
  • The papers should be in the final camera-ready form, suitable for publication in  the proceedings.
  • The papers are limited to 4 pages in length.
  • Please make sure that you use the WASPAA paper kit available for LaTeX and for Microsoft Word.
  • Please make sure that your manuscript is formatted for letter paper and that all fonts are properly subsetted into the document. Further instructions can be found in the WASPAA paper kit for paper submission.
  • It may be important to note that authors of accepted papers will have the opportunity to attach additional multimedia files, such as audio or video files showing the results of their WASPAA papers. The authors of accepted papers will be required to sign the IEEE copyright form. Details will be announced after the paper acceptance notification.

Revision of accepted paper

  • Authors of accepted papers now have the opportunity to submit a revised version of their manuscript along with supplemental multimedia files until Friday, August 24, 2007. Note that this deadline is a hard deadline! Note also that only minor revisions of the original manuscript, accounting for suggestions concerning necessary improvements offered by the reviewers and the Workshop Committee members, will be accepted.

    • Submitted papers should be in PDF format.

    • Please make sure that you use the WASPAA paper kit available for LaTeX and for Microsoft Word.

    • Please make sure that your manuscript is formatted for letter paper and that all fonts are properly subsetted into the document. Further instructions can be found in the WASPAA paper kit for paper submission.

    Please note that at least one author MUST BE REGISTERED for the workshop by August 24. Failure to have at least one such registration will result in removal of the paper from the Technical Program. Additionally, the paper must be presented at the conference by one of the authors.

  • The authors need to download and sign the IEEE copyright form available here and return the completed form via fax or postal mail to the Publications Chair at

    Please note that accepted papers can only be included in the proceedings upon completion of this form. The form must be received by Friday, August 24, 2007.

  • The authors also have the option to submit additional multimedia files for the workshop CD. These can be audio or video files showing the results of their WASPAA paper and a commented list of these files but no additional scientific content, figures, or appendices to your paper.

    • In case the authors want to submit supplemental material we ask them to sign an additional copyright form available here. The reason for this additional form is to agree on the fact that the copyright of the supplemental material remains with the authors and that the authors are authorized to distribute this material. Note that we will only add the authors' supplemental material to the workshop proceedings upon completion of this form.

    • We can receive your multimedia files only by AIRMAIL with such electrical media as CD. If you want to submit your multimedia files, please contact us first at by 8/17, and then send the multimedia files and the copyright form by airmail to the Publications Chair shown above. The submission of these materials are due on 8/24.
